Three members are elected annually to serve a three-year term. One member serves as president, one as vice-president, and one as secretary of the congregation. The council also appoints a church treasurer, and a financial secretary to maintain records of our contributions and finances. The council has the responsibility to oversee and conduct the business of the church. Members of the council also serve as a liaison to the ministry teams & committees and help on Sunday mornings by counting offerings and assisting with communion. |
Ministry Teams Worship & Music - The Worship & Music Team plans the worship life of our congregation. They oversee the Altar Guild, worship furnishings and paraments, musicians and choir, securing of assistants for worship each Sunday, special music, and instruments.
Education & Youth - The Education team plans our Young Families Gatherings, as well as planning and facilitating monthly bible studies after Sunday morning service. Service & Support - The Service & Support Team develops programs which service our congregation and witness to the community. It emphasizes the church’s concern for the poor, the sick, the hungry, and all who need to hear the message of God’s love. This team helps those in our congregation needing assistance with meals, rides and other ways we can provide support to people during difficult times. Stewardship - The Stewardship Team is responsible to prepare programs which promote the use of time, talent, and treasures. An important area of work is the annual stewardship event when members are asked to estimate their financial support for the coming year. Property - The Property Team sees to the upkeep of the church properties. They oversee our contracted services and organize workdays at the church. Long range goal planning directed by the congregation and council falls under their authority. Fellowship - The Fellowship Ministry plans church events including church family get-togethers and fundraisers. They also lead our involvement in local events and welcome the community to join Saron for events throughout the year. Technology - The Technology Team maintains Saron's website and social media presence, as well as operating the sound system and providing livestreaming for those unable to make it to Sunday service. Finance - The Finance Team oversees church finances and sets the proposed budget for each fiscal year. They compile financial reports and provide regular updates to the church council. |
